Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preventing, detecting, and investigating accidents, crimes, and misconduct, apprehending violators, assisting citizens in emergency situations, maintaining order, protecting life, property and the civil rights of individuals, and assisting in the prosecution of criminals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Incumbents of this position must have successfully graduated the required U.S. Army Civilian Police Academy (USACPA), at the Law Enforcement Training Center, or attend this academy within 1 year of hire unless a current approved waiver/exception or grandfathered from the Office of the Provost Marshal General. NOTE: Must upload certificate of completion if you are a graduate.
