About the role
NSW Private Hospitals are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Coding Support Officer (CSO) to join our Health Information Services (HIS) team at Mater Hospital & Sydney Private Hospital. This role is essential in supporting the Clinical Coding function to ensure the timely and complete processing of hospital separations. Working closely with the Manager HIS and Clinical Coding team, you will play a critical role in managing coding workflows, resolving documentation queries, and ensuring accurate and complete clinical information is available for coding. About You: Experience in a hospital or health information environment (highly desirable). Understanding of health information systems (e.g. Webpas, deLacy - desirable). Monitor and manage outstanding clinical coding workloads and hospital separations. Liaise with Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), Practice Managers, and external providers to resolve clinical documentation queries. Generate and analyse reporting systems (e.g. Webpas) to track and prioritise discharge coding. Support the coding team by coordinating outstanding documentation. One of Sydney's premier private hospitals. Close by to train stations at North Sydney, St Leonards, and Crows Nest, and buses on Pacific Highway. The only Australian hospital that is a member of the International Society of Orthopaedic Centres. Core specialties include Obstetrics, Orthopaedics including hip and knee joint replacements, bone and sports injuries, cardiology, cancer care and surgery, lung and vascular medicine, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, endocrine surgery, and neurosurgery.
