About the role
Role and Responsibilities - Work on the Focus Ion Beam (FIB) for 12 hours shift, 9am to 9pm, 3 days work and 4 days rest in one week, alternate week pattern. - Execute TEM lamella preparation using the FIB system on samples as and when required. - Perform cross-sectioning and site-specific analysis using FIB and Energy-Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX) to locate and expose defects or features of interest for samples. - Review job requests and priorities left by the day-shift team, complete jobs in the queue to ensure a steady flow, and prepare a clear job list for the day shift. - Perform routine maintenance tasks, conduct basic alignments and optimizations (e.g., beam alignments, stigmation) to keep tools in peak condition. - Identify and troubleshoot minor issues. Escalate major tool failures to the appropriate on-call support or management. - Adhere strictly to all lab safety protocols. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for FIB operation to ensure consistency and quality. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. - TEM work as and when available, depending on experience and request. Background requirements - Prefer hands-on FIB operation and analysis skills, especially experience in operating a Thermo Fisher Helios Dual-Beam FIB/SEM system. - Self-motivated and passionate about advanced FIB and failure analysis work, preferably with semiconductor. - A good team player and able to work independently. The ability to effectively communicate with other team members, present findings clearly and concisely, and report immediately. - The candidate with SEM background could be okay as the relevant training could be provided. - Hands on experience on TEM an advantage
