This .Monks Account Director (temporary) serves as the strategic partner to our clients and a leader within our agency. Candidates based in the Detroit area are strongly preferred due to occasional client onsite meetings. The Day-to-Day Owns the overarching strategic roadmap, commercial health, and organic growth of the account portfolio. Serves as a trusted advisor to senior-level clients, providing high-impact business solutions, marketing recommendations, and long-term brand strategy. Partners with Project Management and Production leadership to ensure operational excellence, focusing on high-level milestones, resource allocation, and overall delivery quality. Translates complex client business challenges into clear, actionable creative and strategic briefs for internal leadership teams. Proactively identifies new business opportunities within the existing client structure to expand agency footprint and maximize revenue. Monitors account profitability, leading budget forecasts, scoping frameworks, and master services agreements (MSAs). Champions high standards of creative and strategic output, ensuring all deliverables align with the client's broader business KPIs. What you bring: 8-10+ years of account management experience within a digital agency, with a proven track record of leading complex, multi-million dollar client portfolios. Deep expertise in digital transformation, integrated marketing strategy, and brand ecosystem development. Demonstrated ability to navigate complex client organizations and influence C-suite or Tier-1 automotive stakeholders. Strong financial acumen with extensive experience managing large-scale budgets, P&L forecasting, and scoping. Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor, inspire, and align multi-departmental teams (Creative, Strategy, Data, and Tech). A knack for unraveling ambiguous business problems and articulating clear, strategic paths forward. Master storyteller and presenter with superior written and verbal communication skills, capable of commanding a room and pitching complex ideas. High-level familiarity with agency workflow ecosystems; ability to leverage data and project metrics to optimize account health.
