About the Position: Interprets regulations, standards, procedures, methods, and techniques applicable to a broad range of safety and occupational health duties that include industrial hazards and transport of hazardous materials including ammunition and explosives. Reviews proposed or new regulations, SOPs, etc., for integration of risk management and safety requirements to mitigate accidents into the process. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Conducting investigations of accidents and/or perform risk assessments to develop methods for prevention 2) Issuing safety and occupational health surveys to identify risk potential; 3) conducting safety and occupational health inspections to ensure they are in compliance with OSHA or DoD guidance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
