Additional Information

School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) is seeking a research engineer (RE) passionate about spearheading the discovery of new physics in emerging materials, especially pertaining to the development of compact, high-brightness X-ray sources. In particular, the RE will explore techniques to miniaturize particle accelerators in free-electron-driven X-ray sources. Our objective is to realize features currently available only in large scale X-ray facilities in a table-top setup. Compact, high quality X-ray sources have potential applications in industrial inspection, medical imaging and treatment, forensics, security inspection, and would also have a transformative impact on fundamental science (where X-rays have been responsible for >25 Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry and Physiology/Medicine). Our research takes place at the boundary of quantum optics, particle waveshaping and nanomaterials. Read more about our work at our group website https://sites.google.com/view/ljwgroup .
