About the role
Are you willing to go beyond engineering analysis and take part in building and shaping a reliability application? Do you have experience analyzing reliability data and failure mechanisms? Partner with the best Baker Hughes stands as a leading global energy‑technology company, delivering innovative solutions that make energy safer, cleaner, and more efficient across the entire value chain. Operating in more than 120 countries, the company blends deep industrial expertise with advanced engineering and digital technologies to support energy production, transformation, and decarbonization. With over a century of heritage, Baker Hughes partners with customers in oil and gas, industrial sectors, and emerging energy markets to accelerate progress toward a more sustainable energy future. Fuel your passion As a Lead Reliability Engineer - Asset Analytics & Application Ownership , you will play a dual role combining hands-on reliability engineering with the development of digital tools that support data-driven maintenance and risk-based decisions. On one side, you will work directly with operational data from industrial equipment (such as gas turbines), capturing, consolidating and analyzing end-to-end asset history and failure mechanisms (e.g. cracking, corrosion, creep), creating predictive life models to generate insights and recommendations that improve equipment reliability, life cycle and maintenance strategies. At the same time, you will act as a functional owner of a reliability application, taking an active role in shaping and building a next-generation tool used to calculate KPIs and support engineering decisions. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, IT and external partners to define requirements, translate business needs into functional specifications, and ensure the application delivers meaningful, reliable outputs. This role is not limited to performing analyses - it extends to improving how those analyses are created, automated and scaled. You will contribute to transforming manual, data-intensive processes into efficient, structured and potentially automated solutions, including the use of modern digital tools. Over time, the balance of responsibilities will evolve: initially focused more on application development, the role will gradually expand towards deeper involvement in reliability analytics and data-driven engineering activities. This position is ideal for an engineer who wants to go beyond traditional reliability analysis and have a broader impact by shaping both engineering insights and the digital systems that enable them. As a Lead Reliability Engineer - Asset Analytics & Application Ownership , you will be responsible for: Collecting, structuring and maintaining equipment and asset history datasets (installation, field and repair events) Analyzing operational data from industrial and rotating equipment (including gas turbines) to identify reliability trends, failure mechanisms and risk drivers Providing Reliability RAM analysis reports to BH customers Development and update of predictive and probabilistic models as part of advanced reliability analysis Acting as a functional owner of a reliability application, ensuring it meets business needs and delivers reliable, meaningful outputs Translating engineering requirements into functional specifications, user stories and clear inputs for development teams Collaborating closely with IT, developers, and external vendors to design, build and enhance a next-generation reliability tool; Tsting new features, identifying issues and ensuring quality and usability of developed solution For the future driving implementation of new features, issues and bugs management, access control, documentation control and regular update To be successful in this role you will: Bring experience in reliability engineering, asset performance or maintenance analysis ideally within industrial or rotating equipment environments Demonstrate understanding of failure mechanisms (e.g. cracking, corrosion, creep) and their impact on equipment performance and maintenance strategies Have experience working with engineering or operational data and turning it into structured analysis and actionable insights Be able to communicate technical findings clearly through reports, presentations and discussions with stakeholders Show interest in digital tools, applications or systems used to support engineering or operational decision-making Be comfortable working across engineering and IT environments, collaborating with developers, analysts or external vendors Demonstrate a proactive mindset with a focus on improving and automating data-driven engineering processes Have a good command of English; experience with data tools such as SQL, Python or Tableau is considered a plus Work in a way that works for you We recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
