About the role

We're looking for a CAD Designer with 2-5 years of experience in mechanical or electrical system design. You'll support the engineering team by creating detailed 3D models, drawings, and documentation for complex systems used in power and aerospace applications.

Responsibilities

  • CAD Design: Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD.
  • Drafting & Documentation: Generate accurate mechanical and/or electrical drawings, including dimensioning, tolerances, and BOMs.
  • Design Support: Work closely with engineers to translate design concepts into production-ready documentation.
  • Revision Control: Maintain design revisions, manage file versions, and ensure consistency across project documentation.
  • Manufacturing Interface: Collaborate with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and cost-effective.
  • Assembly Support: Support prototype builds and assembly documentation, including creating exploded views and installation drawings.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development of design standards, templates, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in design or drafting.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of dimensioning, tolerancing, and fabrication methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and/or electrical schematics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience in energy systems, aerospace, or high-performance mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with PDM/PLM tools and revision control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience producing single-line diagrams or cable routing drawings.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
