We're looking for a Technical Surfacing Specialist to lift the quality and performance of asphalt across Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland. We're after someone who lives and breathes pavements, understands both design and delivery, and enjoys working shoulder-to-shoulder with crews. Mō te tūranga | About the role Driving quality improvements in asphalt production and paving across the Auckland region. Providing technical surfacing support - mix design, material selection, paving methodology, QA/QC and troubleshooting on live jobs. Monitoring site works to make sure they meet NZTA, local authority and project specs, and fixing issues before they become problems. Upskilling supervisors, engineers and crews in best-practice surfacing and "what good looks like" on the ground. Contributing to our Asphalt Improvement Project, championing new tech, better methods and consistent standards. This is a great step if you've done consulting or design work and now want to own the link between design and delivery - and see your technical decisions play out in real time on the road. Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We're looking for someone with Background in pavement/asphalt design and site monitoring - ideally with NZTA procedures and experience delivering designs for NZTA, councils and private clients. Experience working closely with (or running) asphalt plants, surfacing crews or asphalt departments. Strong understanding of surfacing materials, QA/QC systems and performance monitoring. Someone who puts safety first, communicates well with both crews and clients, and enjoys solving tricky surfacing problems out on site.
