Under administrative direction of the CHHS Director of Simulation and Digital Health, this position facilitates and supervises clinical lab experiences for students in the Simulation Center supporting health and social care disciplines. The Clinical Learning Specialist, faculty, health and social care providers, and the clinical agencies will collaborate to deliver a comprehensive and high-quality clinical education experience. Applicants should be "A llied Health Professionals" who work in the healthcare field. Duties/Responsibilities Provide supervision of students within the simulation lab setting, assist the students to accomplish the clinical learning objectives defined by the course (70%) Understand the course and clinical lab objectives of the course to which they are assigned to provide clinical instruction and be familiar with the overall academic program curriculum. Provide supervision of students within the simulation lab setting and ensure learning of safe, quality patient or client care in a positive and supportive learning environment Assist the students to accomplish the clinical lab learning objectives defined by the course Facilitate clinical simulation lab experiences for each student in the clinical lab group(s) for which they are assigned consistent with course and clinical objectives. Evaluate Student Performance (20%) Evaluate students' clinical lab practice and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of clinical objectives. Collaborate with course faculty in student remediation plans if necessary. Guide students in their growth in the relevant health or social care profession (10%) Validate students' understanding of theoretical, scientific, and evidence-based practice to support safe and effective care Assist the students to learn clinical decision-making and clinical judgment skills, develop competency in the execution of clinical skills and foster good communication skills with patients, clients, families, and other members of the health or social care team.
