The Role The Faculty of Economics is seeking to appoint a Programme Manager (Development & Alumni) to support the implementation and delivery of its Development & Alumni Strategy. The role will support the coordination, implementation and delivery of strategy, KPIs and core Development and Alumni activity, working closely with the Director of Development, the Alumni Committee and senior academic colleagues. The post-holder will support the review, refresh and development of the next five-year Development & Alumni Strategy. About the Role You will work closely with the Director of Development and the Alumni Committee to support the Faculty's Development and Alumni activity. Key responsibilities include: Supporting and advising the work of the Director of Development and the Alumni Committee Facilitating the implementation of the Faculty's Development & Alumni Strategy Planning and delivering events and engagement activity involving internal and external stakeholders Engaging and supporting academics and researchers in Development and Alumni activity Liaising with and managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including alumni, external organizations, academics, and University offices Providing high-level administrative and editorial support, including drafting and reviewing strategy plans, proposals, bids, alumni communications and other materials Producing written outputs to communicate Faculty research expertise and Development activity to stakeholders Handling and routing external queries to appropriate academic or professional services leads Developing and fostering relationships and partnerships in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders Working collaboratively with Faculty teams and central University functions, including Communications, Impact functions and relevant University offices About You We are seeking a candidate with the skills and experience to operate effectively in a complex and research-intensive environment. You will bring: Experience of providing high-level administrative and project management support within a complex organisational environment Experience of coordinating activities, events or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities and deadlines Experience of engaging and working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, often with differing priorities and expectations Experience of producing high-quality written and oral outputs and synthesising complex information for a range of audiences Experience of working in partnership with senior leaders to translate strategic objectives into practical plans, projects or initiatives Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills Ability to provide analysis, advice and recommendations to inform decision-making A degree (or equivalent experience) is essential. A higher degree or recognised project management qualification would be advantageous.
