About this role Join a diverse and collaborative team of technologists in the Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG), responsible for the research and development of applied solutions across BlackRock. PAG sits within the Aladdin Financial Engineering (AFE) division, which develops analytics and models used by portfolio and risk management professionals both within BlackRock and across the Aladdin client community. Given the breadth of business objectives, AFE solutions span a wide range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, commodities, derivatives, and private markets. The PAG Equities team is seeking high-performing individuals at the Associate or Vice President level in New York. Successful candidates will design, build, and deploy advanced analytical solutions for portfolio managers, complementing the Aladdin platform. These solutions span portfolio construction, equity research, and AI-driven workflows, with the goal of enhancing investment outcomes. The role requires a strong understanding of public equity markets and experience working with senior stakeholders. Define problems and design solutions for complex, cross-functional initiatives Manage relationships with senior portfolio managers and investment leaders to shape a strategic roadmap of initiatives Translate business needs and stakeholder pain points into scalable, high-impact solutions Drive adoption by demonstrating value through working solutions and tangible outcomes Serve as a bridge between business teams and technical partners, helping shape ideas and execution approaches Provide guidance and mentorship on technical and analytical work across the team Stay current on AI, fintech, and productivity trends, and proactively identify opportunities for application Overall qualifications/experience include: B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Financial Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline preferred; strong technical fluency is essential Vice President: 7+ years of experience in financial markets and engineering, with a track record of leading teams and delivering strategic analytics initiatives Proven experience working on cross-functional, technical projects Deep proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience building scalable, production-grade applications (including familiarity with analytical libraries and complex codebases) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with portfolio managers and senior stakeholders Familiarity with agentic design patterns is a plus Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences Collaborative team player with the ability to build strong partnerships across teams and geographies The team is open to Associate level as well and would look for 3+ years at that seniority level Key Responsibilities at the Associate Level: Execute well-defined and innovative solutions supporting investment processes, including portfolio construction and equity research Independently prototype, test, iterate, and deploy analytical, technical, and AI-enabled solutions using firm infrastructure and modern tools Embrace an experimental mindset - rapidly iterate, learn from results, and refine approaches Build domain expertise and technical depth through collaboration with engineering partners and investment stakeholders Communicate analyses and solution outputs clearly through meetings and presentations For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$170,000.00 - USD$225,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
