About the role
As the IT Operations Manager, you will own the technology systems, operations, and infrastructure that keeps our team running and positions us to scale. We are looking for someone who has seen how great IT operations look inside a fast-paced startup environment and can evolve our IT systems to support this growth. This person will be a trusted operational partner to leaders across the organization, helping to scale our technology systems and processes. Responsibilities include: Own device and endpoint management, including hardware procurement, provisioning, inventory management, asset tracking, and employee technology support across Houston, Kansas, and San Francisco offices. Administer core business systems and SaaS tools (Microsoft 365, Rippling, Slack, and others), including provisioning, access management, and license optimization. Lead IT onboarding and offboarding, ensuring every new Vaulter has the tools, access, and support they need from day one. Serve as the primary point of contacfor all employee IT support requests, troubleshooting issues across hardware, software, and connectivity. Manage and strategically evaluate relationships with third-party vendors and MSPs, including oversight of infrastructure, cybersecurity support, and technical software deployment on Vaulted servers. Develop, maintain, and proactively evolve IT policies, documentation, and roadmaps that support business growth. Collaborate with cross functional leaders to anticipate technology needs, improve IT operations, and support company growth. Identify and drive opportunities to improve systems, reduce costs, and enhance the overall employee technology experience.
Requirements
- We are looking for someone who brings both IT operational depth and business maturity, and has left IT better than they found it. In addition, we seek a candidate with:
- 5 to 8 years of IT operations or IT systems administration experience, with meaningful time spent in a high-growth or scaling business environment.
- A strong track record of not just executing IT operations, but proactively improving and building them.
- Deep working knowledge of Microsoft 365, endpoint management (MDM/Intune or similar), and SaaS administration.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure, VPNs, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience managing and evaluating third-party vendors and MSP relationships with an eye toward cost, quality, and strategic fit.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to think beyond the day-to-day and understand how IT infrastructure can better support Vaulted's business outcomes.
- A customer-service orientation with bias to problem solve and genuine pride in delivering a great technology experience for Vaulters. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical stakeholders, including leadership.
