Ability to communicate complex, technical material in a concise manner.Fluency in Spanish is preferred but is not required.Strong commitment to employee involvement, team building, diversity & inclusionAbility to work independently with demonstrated skills in time and project managementSubject matter expertise in U.S. regulations and polices from OSHA, MSHA, CGA, etc.Training and experience in incident investigation (Cause and Effects Analysis)Continuous Improvement (CI) facilitator training a plus (Cause and Effects, Mistake-proofing, Mapping, etc.)Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Key Job Responsibilities:Mentor and support plant leaders on Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics topicsDevelop appropriate strategies for quantitative workplace assessment including frequency, duration, location, and sampling technology to accurately evaluate worker exposure to airborne stressors, radiation, heat stress, and biological agents.Perform chemical air sampling, noise dosimetry, sound level mapping, physical and biological hazard assessments.Conduct Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomic risk assessments in a manner consistent with Company standards and procedures.Develop ergonomic risk assessment strategies including task assessment prioritization, industrial and office ergonomic evaluations, and selection and prioritization of control measures.Prescribe control methodologies using material substitution, process modification, ventilation, personal protective equipment and/or changes in work practices.Develop and deliver industrial hygiene training programs.Develop and implement Company occupational health standards.Consult with managers and regulatory officials regarding findings and remediation.Data analysis in support of the stated objectives including exposure data evaluations and injury statistics and trending.Provide industrial hygiene expertise as needed in the course of risk assessments, facility EH&S audits, and government inspections.Participate constructively in activities of professional organizations, peer companies, and regulatory groups to promote understanding, assessment, and control of hazards and advance the industrial hygiene profession.Physical Requirements:Must be able to fulfill all physical demands listed:Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, ramps, and stairs; walk safely on uneven terrain.Wear PPE for up to a full workday in industrial environments including safety shoes, hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and FR clothingAbility to work most of the day on your feet and work in cold and hot environmenHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401(k)Paid time offFlexible scheduleParental leave

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opportunity for an Industrial Hygienist to be hybrid based in either Houston, TX, Phoenix, AZ or Allentown, PA.
The Industrial Hygienist reports to the Americas Industrial Hygiene Manager and provides direct field support and program expertise to facilities in North America. The Industrial Hygienist supports all company operations including industrial gas and chemical manufacturing facilities, customer service and equipment maintenance organizations, transportation, R&D, and office settings.
The fundamental objective of this position is to maintain healthful working environments through the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of occupational health risks. The successful Industrial Hygienist must be self-motivated and comfortable working independently to influence and drive results in a large, matrixed company and a dynamic work environment.
