Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and repairing motors, valves, rotating equipment and all equipment necessary for the chemical plant operation.
  • Working with Operations to troubleshoot equipment upsets and determine path to repair.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a maintenance or related discipline.
  • 3 or more years of relevant military experience.
  • 5+ years experience in a chemical plant, packaging facility or a skilled trade using similar skills such as a Pipefitter, Millwright, or HVAC technician.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
  • Equipment Troubleshooting: Systematic, step-by-step process for identifying the root cause of a malfunction and implementing a solution to restore the equipment to its intended working condition.
  • Process Control: The application of a systematic method for managing and adjusting a dynamic system's variables to maintain it within specified limits and to achieve a desired outcome.
  • Process Equipment: Machinery and devices that alter raw materials or products through chemical or physical means to achieve a desired outcome. An understanding of how this equipment operates is critical for this role.
  • Mechanical Systems Diagnostics: Ability to assess the condition and performance of pumps, motors, valves, and rotating equipment using inspection techniques, measurements, and testing tools to proactively identify wear, failure risks, and maintenance needs.
  • Preventative & Predictive Maintenance: Knowledge of implementing and optimizing maintenance strategies (e.g., inspections, lubrication schedules, vibration monitoring) to reduce unplanned downtime and improve overall equipment reliability.
