This vacancy is for a GS - 0101 - 11, Family Resource Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, BASE NEW ORLEANS WORK-LIFE DIVISION -HW in NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana. Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. You MUST meet the following requirements: EDUCATION: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. AND To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Knowledge of social service delivery systems and concepts, understanding how social or behavioral patterns or attitudes impact and affect work and family life issues, child development norms and behaviors, which promote a child's physical, social, emotional, creative, and intellectual growth and development Conducting interviews to establish the nature and extent of concerns and issues Provide assistance in developing goals and plans, and determine appropriate referral services and options OR 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree NOTE: All experience statements (i.e., duties, specialized experience, or related applicable assessment) copied from this announcement and pasted into your resume will not be considered as a demonstration of your qualifications for this position.
