Job Description SUMMARY : REQUIRED: cover letter and resume The Coordinator for Training and Development is primarily responsible for training and development of para-professional staff within and working in collaboration with Residence Life & Housing. Primary duties and responsibilities will be working in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Director for Residence Life, while collaborating with other departments and staff, to coordinate several facets of the recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation processes. The Coordinator for Training and Development also plays an integral part in fostering the overall residential experience through various connections within the department and division of Student Development. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Training and Development Coordinates and leads the student staff recruitment and selection process (approximately 100 students) Coordinates and leads the implementation of student staff training initiatives Provides Responsible for the coordination and oversight of training and onboarding for student staff hires that occur outside of the regular recruitment and training cycles in collaboration with their supervisors Responsible for the development and implementation of student staff training initiatives throughout the year to provide continuing education and professional development opportunities for student staff Coordinates with the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) Advanced Graduate Trainee/LPC Resident and Residence Life & Housing Graduate Assistant on student staff training and continuing education focused on mental health and well-being Serves as lead instructor, working in collaboration with co-instructors, for each section of the six-week wellness course taught each spring for newly selected student staff Coordinates student staff bi-annual evaluation process Collaborates with the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) Advanced Graduate Trainee and Residence Life & Housing Graduate Assistant on student staff training and continuing education focused on mental health and well-being Performs student staff learning assessments and provides data-driven suggestions and recommendations to assist with training initiatives Departmental Responsibilities and Supervision In conjunction with the Director, assists in the recruitment, selection, and supervision of two graduate assistants in partnership with Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) Oversees and responsible for the Law Residences and supervises two Law Community Assistants Responsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of one graduate assistant/summer intern through the Association of College and University Housing Officers - International (ACUHO-I) Responsible for Summer School Residential Life staff - Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates an undergraduate staff of approximately 10 Summer School Resident Assistants with the assistance of a graduate level intern through the Association of College and University Housing Officers - International (ACUHO-I). Oversees programming, facility support, community climate, and other administrative tasks as needed/assigned to support approximately 400-500 students living on campus in the summer. Serves as a liaison between and for residents, residence life and housing administrators, other departments, and/or external constituencies in relation to day-to-day programmatic, operational and administrative issues and problem resolution related to the residential experience. Participates in on-call duty rotation with department Directors. Works closely with RLH Leadership team and both College deans' offices and provides support to students. Works closely with various campus partners including University Police, University Facilities, Student Health Center, and Counseling & Psychological Services. As essential personnel, provides support and assistance, when necessary, in response to a campus crisis. Assists in the coordination and facilitation of residence life and housing functions and programs (e.g., Opening and Orientation, Move-in, Move-out, Break closings) Plays an integral role as a team member to support and advance departmental work through participation in departmental committees, planning, development and implementation Assists in the coordination of living and learning programs in residential areas in conjunction with the Director Performs a range of administrative activities for the organizational unit, including, but not limited to budget management, updating manuals and instructional materials, utilizing event management systems, website development and updates, internal and external communication; composes and edits correspondence and documentation; administers follow-up for residence life and housing-related processes and procedures.
