St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital is recognised as a Cardiac Centre of Excellence, providing world-class cardiothoracic and vascular surgical services. As part of our highly specialised Theatre team, you'll work alongside renowned surgeons and multidisciplinary teams delivering some of the state's most complex and innovative procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your expertise in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while contributing to exceptional patient outcomes. As part of our Cardiothoracic team, you'll gain exposure to: Cardiac Surgery - Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) - Valve repair and replacement surgery - Complex aortic surgery - Redo cardiac surgery - Minimally invasive cardiac procedures Structural Heart Program - Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) - Hybrid cardiac procedures Thoracic Surgery - Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) - Open thoracic surgery - Lung resections - Mediastinal surgery Advanced Vascular Surgery - Open Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repair - Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) - Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR) - Complex open and endovascular aortic surgery - Peripheral vascular reconstruction - Hybrid vascular procedures - Emergency vascular surgery This is an exceptional opportunity to build expertise in one of Australia's most specialised surgical services while working with advanced technologies, innovative procedures and a team committed to clinical excellence. What Makes a Difference for Us? - Bachelor of Nursing degree (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration. - Previous Scrub Scout experience in Cardiothoracic, Vascular or another acute surgical specialty highly regarded. - Experience assisting with complex open and endovascular procedures is highly desirable but not essential. - Previous experience with hybrid theatres, structural heart procedures or advanced surgical technologies will be highly regarded. - Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and delivering exceptional patient-centred care. - Desire for ongoing professional development and continuous learning. - Strong communication, teamwork and adaptability within a multidisciplinary theatre environment. - Australian working rights (we are unable to offer sponsorship currently). - Availability to work across AM and PM shifts with participation in an on-call roster. - Willingness to meet vaccination and immunisation requirements in line with hospital infection prevention and control standards.
