Interior Fit-out Technical Design Manager (Detailed Design)

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the detailed design development of interior fit-out projects from design intent to construction documentation.
• Review and coordinate architectural, interior, structural, and MEP drawings to ensure design integration and constructability.
• Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of construction drawings, shop drawings, detailed drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure all design deliverables comply with project specifications, applicable codes, client requirements, and company standards.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve technical design issues.
• Conduct design coordination meetings and technical reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review material submissions, mock-ups, finishes, and samples to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
• Support project managers and site teams by providing technical solutions during construction.
• Identify design conflicts and implement practical solutions to improve constructability and project efficiency.
• Ensure timely submission of drawings and technical documentation in accordance with project schedules.
• Manage design revisions, drawing control, and document management.
• Lead value engineering initiatives while maintaining design intent, quality, and cost objectives.
• Supervise and mentor technical designers, detailers, and BIM modellers to maintain high standards of design quality.
• Collaborate with BIM teams to ensure accurate multidisciplinary coordination where BIM is adopted.
• Participate in client meetings, consultant coordination meetings, and technical presentations.
• Support project completion, defect rectification, and final documentation.
• Job Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in interior fit-out detailed design.
• Proven experience delivering commercial, hospitality, retail, residential, healthcare, or institutional interior fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of interior construction detailing, joinery, finishes, furniture, ceilings, partitions, flooring, and MEP coordination.
• Extensive experience preparing and reviewing detailed design drawings, shop drawings, construction drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, technical detailing, and buildability.
• Familiarity with local building regulations, fire safety requirements, accessibility standards, and construction codes.
• Excellent technical coordination and multidisciplinary design management skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM software, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with BIM coordination and digital project delivery is highly desirable.
