Senior Software Engineer

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to take a key role in developing advanced video applications that enable searchable event detection in logistics operations. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of applications that enable users to combine metadata and video footage across large-scale datasets. In this role, you will develop and deliver scalable, high-quality software, take ownership of technical solutions, and contribute to architectural decisions and engineering practices. You will work closely with product owners, UX/UI designers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure every solution meets business goals while delivering real value to users. As a senior member of the team, you will help raise the technical bar through knowledge sharing, code reviews, mentoring, and collaboration. You will have the opportunity to influence how we build software while remaining hands-on and solving complex technical challenges. We are looking for a results-driven, pragmatic engineer with a collaborative mindset and a positive attitude. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges while keeping sight of the long-term vision, prioritization, and sound engineering practices. You take ownership, provide clarity in technical discussions, and contribute to a culture of high-quality, impactful software development. Our team is based in Lund, and you will report to the Software Development Manager. Required Skills and Experience: - 5+ years of experience as a Backend or Full-Stack Engineer - Advanced proficiency in Golang and Python, with a proven track record of building production-grade services - Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or similar NoSQL and search technologies - Proficiency in Vue.js or a comparable frontend framework for building user interfaces - Experience implementing automated testing, including unit tests, integration tests, and CI pipelines - Strong understanding of distributed system design and service-to-service communication using REST, MQTT, Kafka, or similar technologies - Experience taking ownership of technical solutions and contributing to software architecture decisions - Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly Desirable Skills and Experience: - Experience working with video protocols such as RTSP, HLS, or MPEG-DASH - Experience with Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform, distributed architectures, and modern communication protocols - Working knowledge of Docker, containerized environments, and deployment workflows - Experience mentoring engineers or driving technical improvements within a development team Apply by sending your CV/résumé to apply@sibsolutions.com.
