JOB DESCRIPTION: PURPOSE: To give work direction to maintenance staff, minimize equipment downtime, lead continuous improvement activities, and communicate with Tier support teams. Train and develop other electrical-mechanical technicians on standard work and maintenance procedures, as well as assist in development of Maintenance Excellence throughout Bayport Operations. Lead support responsibilities will be in addition to maintenance, troubleshooting, machine reliability and repairing of all production equipment in a timely manner to control downtime costs. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide work direction and support for assigned areas to maintenance technicians - Attend assigned Tier meetings; being single point of contact for assigned Value Stream - Accountability for PM's, PdM, RCCA's, Autonomous Maintenance (AM) support, projects and maintenance work done in assigned Value Stream - Deployment of MEx and Autonomous Maintenance objectives, including training for associates across 3 shifts - Manage formal shift to shift hand-over program and communications. - Efficiently operate, troubleshoot, provide installation and maintenance services to standard and special facility equipment to control downtime costs - Ability to troubleshoot, repair or direct the maintenance of all mechanical functions, mechanical drive units, industrial hydraulics and pneumatic powers, pneumatic drills and screw guns, routers, bearing assemblies, motors, plumbing architectures, PLC's and ladder diagrams, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motor controls and servo controllers, safety circuits which include E-stops, light curtains, floor mats, safety relays and safety switches. PC knowledge for upgrading troubleshooting and machine functions via touch screen controls - Knowledge and use of hand tools, PdM tools and machine shop equipment, the proper use of all test equipment used to perform all multi-trade repairs of production equipment - Evaluate equipment for any repairs/enhancements to increase reliability or upgrades and complete work as needed. - Collaborate with support staffs (Quality, Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering, etc.) to implement solutions to increase equipment reliability, performance, and output. - Utilize EAM for all work orders, part investigation, asset history, downtime recording and labor/cost of ownership metric reporting. - Complete preventative maintenance and PdM tasks as scheduled, and document finished work - Contact vendors, order parts, collaborate with Planners and Buyers and keep inventory of critical replacement parts on hand for all equipment - Machine implementation including, rigging, leveling, facilities (air, hydraulics, dust collection and safety) along with testing and modifying as needed to prepare machine for production - Fabrication and installation of all needed fixturing, guarding and any machine parts needed. This included one or more of the following: design, layout, sheet metal work, welding, machine shop work, carpentry and painting - Work with leadership to schedule and complete requested. - Communicate with direct manager or supervisor on technician development. - Maintain the schedule developed by the maintenance planner and communicate schedule adjustments as required - Coordinate project work between the different trades - Coach and mentor maintenance technicians on the development of needed skills - Provide Safety Leadership by maintaining best safety practices and process adherence to ensure technician and employee safety. - Understand code and license requirements _________________________________________________________________________________________________ SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work with Engineering to implement design changes of equipment, jigs, and fixturing for enhancement, upgrades or replacements - Work with Engineering in early equipment procurement to ensure reliable and maintainable equipment - Assist with Facilities Maintenance equipment/issues as needed - Work with Engineering on new plant layouts/ moving of equipment, and additions of equipment - Work with external contractors as needed, in both production and other related areas of the plant SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES (cont'd): - Develop and implement new maintenance strategie
