About the role

The successful candidate will act as a central point of coordination for assigned projects, working closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure project actions, timings, risks and deliverables are clearly managed. This is not a purely administrative role. The successful candidate will need to understand engineering and manufacturing environments, be comfortable working with technical information, and be confident chasing actions through to completion. The focus of the role is simple: Track, coordinate, communicate, escalate and deliver.

Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and delivery of aerospace and precision component projects.
  • Maintain project timing plans, action trackers, risk registers and status reports.
  • Track key deliverables including materials, tooling, fixtures, gauges, documentation, outside processes, engineering actions and production readiness requirements.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Planning, Purchasing and Supply Chain to keep projects moving.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to support clear communication, updates and action closure.
  • Attend and support project launch meetings, engineering reviews, production readiness reviews and customer progress meetings.
  • Follow up open actions and ensure owners are clear on responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Identify risks, delays and blockers early, and escalate issues before they impact customer commitments.
  • Support coordination of raw material, heat treatment, plating, coating and subcontract operations.
  • Maintain accurate project information using spreadsheets, trackers, ERP/MRP systems and internal project tools.
  • Help ensure new parts transition from engineering launch into production in a controlled and organised way.
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident at driving actions through to completion.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting or coordinating engineering, manufacturing, NPI, industrialisation or customer projects.
  • A background or strong interest in aerospace, precision engineering or complex manufactured components.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, tolerances and technical requirements.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing environments and cross-functional project delivery.
  • Strong follow-up discipline - someone who does not just record actions, but helps make sure they are closed.
  • Clear communication skills with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • The confidence to ask questions, challenge progress and escalate issues early.
  • Good spreadsheet, tracker and reporting skills.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP or project tracking systems would be beneficial.
  • A structured, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Desirable Experience
  • Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
  • Coordinating engineering, NPI, industrialisation or manufacturing projects from launch through to completion.
  • Managing project deliverables across engineering, quality, production, purchasing, planning and supply chain.
  • Preparing and communicating clear project updates for customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting project launch reviews, production readiness reviews, gate reviews or customer progress meetings.
  • Coordinating material, tooling, gauges, fixtures, documentation, outside processes and approval activities against a project plan.
  • Working in a controlled manufacturing environment where deadlines, customer communication, traceability and documentation are important.
  • Exposure to CNC machining, turning, milling, grinding, gear cutting, gear grinding or complex machined components.
  • Exposure to AS9100, FAIR, PPAP, ISIR, NPI or production readiness processes.
  • Project management training or qualifications such as APM, PRINCE2, PMP or similar would be beneficial, but practical project delivery experience is more important.
  • Key Skills
  • Project coordination
  • Action tracking and follow-up
  • Risk and issue management
  • Customer and supplier communication
  • Engineering awareness
  • Drawing interpretation
  • Manufacturing process awareness
  • Production readiness support
  • Supply chain coordination
  • Spreadsheet and status reporting
  • ERP/MRP
