Position Summary: The primary function of the Facility Maintenance Technician is to work one-on-one with plant personnel and contractors to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance on the facility and equipment at one of our manufacturing plants' operation. The work is to be completed in a safe and efficient method to ensure minimal production downtime and adherence to environmental and safety guidelines. Responsibilities may include the use of hand and power tools, working with electric and plumbing, reading and interpreting simple drawings and schematics, and using knowledge of codes and regulations to perform building maintenance. Qualifications and Skills: Basic understanding of OSHA, NFPA, EPA and other safety and environmental regulations. Understanding of basic machining principles. Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC, Plumbing, Air Compressor and other building systems. Basic knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Office Ability to drive all types of fort trucks, pallet jacks and aerial equipment Problem solving skills and knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems Diagnoses root cause of issues and/or failures and complete repairs on a variety of facility equipment Understand the application of technical documents such as machine/equipment manuals and safety documentation Observe all safety rules and regulations, including but not limited to lockout/tag out, arc flash, wearing proper safety equipment; safety glasses, hearing protection, leather work shoes/boot, cotton clothing, etc. Physical Demands: Associates are frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position can involve sitting, walking and lifting up to 40 pounds several times throughout the day. Job is performed standing all day. Job requires substantial movement/motion with regard to walking, bending, lifting, grasping and applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palms.
