This vacancy is for a GS-0080-12, Security Specialist (Port) located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SECTOR EASTERN GREAT LAKES CONTINGENCY PLNG and FORCE RDNS STF in BUFFALO, New York. To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Experience in an operational capacity to include national defense, law enforcement, port security, or other security focused mission set Coordinating maritime security and port readiness initiatives through application of the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) of 2002, applicable Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) guidance, and Navigation, Vessel, and Inspection Circulars (NVIC) to support Area Maritime Security planning, assessments, and stakeholder collaboration Conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies by analyzing threats, vulnerabilities, and consequences withing the maritime domain.
