About the role

About the Programme The Community First Aid (CFA) programme mobilises trained volunteer first aiders to serve as first responders at public parks and national/community events, delivering essential first aid and on-site support. Beyond peacetime deployments, CFA also plays a critical role in national Civil Emergency Response. Our volunteer first aiders form the backbone of CFA, strengthening community safety, preparedness and resilience across the population. CFA consists of three key components: First Aiders on Wheels (FAOW) This proactive initiative under CFA involves trained volunteers patrolling popular recreational areas such as East Coast Park, Pulau Ubin, Jurong Lake Gardens and Punggol Coney Island on weekends and public holidays. They provide immediate first aid to park-goers, manage injuries, offer reassurance and activate emergency services when necessary. Events Coverage Deployment of volunteer first aid teams to a wide range of national and community events, including the National Day Parade, Chingay Parade, Istana Open House, community sports events and family day carnivals. By delivering prompt medical care, CFA enhances the safety and enjoyment of all participants and attendees.
