IT Solutions Architect (Java)

Responsibilities

• Define and drive solution architecture for enterprise applications
• Lead technical design activities and support implementation across distributed teams
• Contribute to the modernisation and evolution of complex legacy systems
• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure and high performing
• Collaborate closely with developers, architects, QA, DevOps and business stakeholders
• Support delivery throughout the full software development lifecycle
• Promote engineering best practice and architectural standards across teams
• We are looking for a technology leader with 10+ years' experience in enterprise software development and solution architecture.
• To succeed in this role, you will be a collaborative communicator who is comfortable working with geographically distributed teams and engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Key Skills
• 10+ years' experience in enterprise software development and architecture
• Strong Java background (Java 11/17, Java EE / Jakarta EE)
• Database design and development expertise (PostgreSQL)
• Eclipse RCP, SWT and JFace
• WildFly Application Server
• Enterprise software architecture and solution design
• Legacy system modernisation
• Object-oriented design, design patterns and engineering best practices
• Experience working within complex enterprise environments

• Travel: Initial onboarding will take place in Dresden and will require a 2-3 week stay on-site . Following onboarding, business travel to Dresden is expected approximately once per quarter .

We are looking for an experienced IT Solutions Architect to join a major enterprise transformation programme within a highly regulated environment. This is a hands-on role combining solution architecture, software engineering expertise, and technical leadership. Working closely with the core product team in Dresden, Germany as well as business stakeholders, and distributed delivery teams across Europe and the UK, you will be responsible for designing, evolving, and modernising enterprise-scale platforms while ensuring high performance standards, scalability, and maintainability.
