About the role

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of the Administrator, Equal Employment Opportunity Office This position's primary purpose is to provide expert advisory, consultative, and technical services to the Department on complex EEO issues requiring legal interpretations of policy and procedures; and ensuring compliance with 29 CFR Part 1614, MD-110, MD-715, and applicable EEO laws. Applicants applying for the GS 14 must meet the following requirements: Have at least one (1) full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GS 14: One (1) year of specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing supervisory, technical and programmatic oversight for EEO matters throughout the complaint cycle; 2) Providing expert advisory, consultative, and technical services to managers and senior leaders on complex EEO issues that require legal interpretations of policy and procedures; 3) Ensuring program requirements and complaint processing are compliant with 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1614, Management Directive (MD) 110, MD-715, and in support of applicable EEO laws; 4) Establishing agency wide discrimination complaint policies according to EEOC regulations and evaluating program requirements to ensure effective, efficient, and responsible complaint processing services are in place; and 5) Implementing the procurement process to secure contracted EEO counselors and investigators and developing procedures for contracted staff and overseeing performance.
