About the role
Our client is looking for a Financial Controller to step into a high-impact role within a business entering its next phase of growth. Working in a fast growing, ambitious business, you'll take ownership of the finance function, building structure, strengthening controls and introducing forward looking insight to support confident decision making. You will be joining a business run by entrepreneurial Directors who move quickly and need a finance function that keeps pace.
Requirements
- Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or QBE with demonstrable financial controller-level experience
- Proven experience in a financial management or financial controller role, ideally within an owner-managed or SME business
- Strong working knowledge of Xero, Sage 50 or comparable SME accounting software
- Experience of managing all finance processes including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Month End Close
- Previous experience of implementing procurement processes and negotiating improved supplier terms
- History of building good credit control processes, monitoring cash collection and ensuring adherence to payment terms by key customers
- Experience in managing a finance team including development and appraisal of team members
- Confident preparing and presenting management accounts, cashflow forecasts, budgeting and ad hoc finance reports
- Comfortable working directly with business owners and Directors, clear communicator who can translate numbers into decisions
- Organised, structured and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Knowledge of passenger transport industry would be desirable but not essential along with experience with vehicle leasing, hire purchase and vehicle asset management
