About the role

The Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical (IC&E) Technician will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment in an LNG plant. Job Responsibilities - Install, repair, and maintain instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment in the LNG plant, including but not limited to switches, transmitters, analyzers, controllers, and motors. - Calibrate, troubleshoot, and modify pneumatic, electrical, and electronic control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and distributed control systems (DCS) for the LNG plant. - Interpret electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and process flow diagrams (PFDs). - Take equipment readings, interpret abnormal readings and alarms, and take pre-designated corrective actions, including activation of emergency equipment and procedures. - Work without supervision on maintaining proper plant operation, security, and emergency equipment and procedures, notify supervision of any abnormalities. - Conduct regular equipment and systems tests and inspections to ensure reliability and availability. - Perform work orders for inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, and system modifications. - Maintain spare parts inventory and report deficiencies for restock and reorder. - Clean, paint, and perform other general maintenance tasks as required. - Complete company-sponsored training as required. - Participate in emergency response drills and exercises and respond to actual emergencies as needed. - Perform other duties as required. Job Qualifications - Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school. - Associates degree in Control Systems or Instrumentation or A 2-year Electrical Technology degree to ensure a strong foundational knowledge of power and circuitry or Engineering Degrees (Electrical/Control Systems): - Experience in a similar role, preferably in a related industry, is desired including knowledge in hazardous area wiring. - Experience and proficiency in safely working with voltages from 480V to 13.2 KV is highly desirable. - Understanding of NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and relevant LNG specific codes & standards is a plus. - Basic understanding of instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment. - Knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, and electronic control systems, PLCs, and DCS. - The ability to interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and PFDs. - Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work without supervision. - Effective communication and interpersonal abilities are essential, coupled with a keen attention to detail. - Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License at all times. - Massachusetts Hoisting Engineers license grade 2d or ability to obtain one within 6 months Working Relationships This position reports to the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Supervisor and collaborates with all other plant personnel. Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Must be able to work at heights from ladders, scaffolding, or aerial lifts. Work with hazardous materials may be required. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility. Work Schedule Regular scheduled workdays are Monday to Friday, during normal day shift hours. Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
