About the role
We're building out the test function at Senra Systems and we're looking for someone who can own it end to end, alongside our test team. As a Test Specialist at Senra Systems, you'renot running programs someone else wrote, you're writing them. You'll develop test programs, design and build fixtures, operate our automated and manual test equipment, and serve as the technical authority for electrical verification across the factory. You'll work across all build phases - in-process checkpoints, end-of-line verification, first article builds, and customer witness events as needed. This role sits within the Manufacturing Engineering organization and works closely with production and quality teams day to day.
Responsibilities
- Test Program Development & Fixture Ownership
- Author and maintain test programs for the Cirris CH2 platform across all active part numbers, covering continuity, shorts, and resistance verification and high voltage testing and support additional test platforms as we scale our test operations
- Design, build, and maintain test fixtures and interface adapters to accommodate Senra's connector library and harness configurations
- Manage revision control for test programs in alignment with engineering change activity - deployed programs always match released drawings
- Develop and maintain hipot test setups and parameters for applicable programs per customer and program-specific requirements
- Test Execution
- Own the end-of-line and in-process test execution process while developing repeatable, documented workflows and training needed to transfer execution to key production personnel over time
- Execute electrical testing using the Cirris CH2 and other automated and manual test platforms, and perform in-process checks at designated mid-build checkpoints per the Engineering Master and work instructions
- Support various electrical and mechanical testing per IPC/WHMA-A-620 and program-specific acceptance criteria
- Operate all test equipment safely and in accordance with calibrated equipment procedures; flag out-of-tolerance conditions immediately
- First Article & Customer Support
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities as the test subject matter expert - executing test sequences, documenting results, and contributing test data to the FAIR package
- Serve as the technical point of contact during customer witness and source inspection test events; present results clearly and professionally
- Collaborate with Quality on test-related acceptance criteria interpretation and any deviations requiring engineering disposition
- Documentation & Nonconformance
- Generate test reports and Certificates of Conformance (CoC) for completed assemblies, with traceability to the correct program revision and serial number
- Initiate and drive Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) for test failures - documenting failure mode, disposition recommendation, and verification of corrective action
- Maintain accurate test records that support customer deliverable packages and internal quality audits
- Test Station & Equipment Stewardship
- Own the day-to-day condition of the test station - calibration status, fixture inventory, consumables, and 5S compliance
- Track calibration due dates for all test equipment and coordinate recertification with the appropriate internal or third-party provider
- Identify test process improvement opportunities and bring recommendations to the ME team with supporting data
Requirements
- Required:
- Hands-on experience with automated wire harness test equipment - Cirris platform experience strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Proficiency with hipot / dielectric withstanding testing in a production environment
- Ability to read and interpret wire lists, schematics, connector drawings, and test specifications to develop test programs and fixtures
- Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 acceptance criteria as they apply to electrical and mechanical test
- Experience authoring test documentation - test reports, CoCs, and NCRs - with the accuracy and traceability required in an aerospace or defense environment
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-directed - you manage your own workload and keep the test function running independently
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident)
- Preferred:
- NASA 8739.4 or AS9100 environment experience
- Familiarity with fixture design and basic fabrication (machining, 3D printing, or equivalent) to support custom test interface development
- Experience supporting customer source inspection or first article test events
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS or CIT certif
