Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Project Manager to develop and implement strategies for accident prevention, safe work practices, and compliance with statutory Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.
  • Implement, monitor, and maintain Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures, and programs across project sites.
  • Ensure all site personnel strictly adhere to company safety policies, safe work procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Identify potential hazards and safety gaps proactively, and work with relevant stakeholders to implement preventive and corrective measures.
  • Organize and act as the secretary for Safety Committee meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and conduct regular safety inspections and audits for management reporting.
  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, training sessions, and emergency drills to enhance safety awareness and preparedness.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss cases, determine root causes, and recommend effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead and supervise site safety personnel, fostering a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, documentation, and reports in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the building or civil construction industry.
  • Registered as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) for at least 5 years.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess strong technical knowledge and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
