Maritime Charterer

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute chartering activities for dry bulk vessels in support of trading and operational requirements
• Source suitable vessels and negotiate charter party terms with shipowners, brokers, and operators
• Monitor freight market trends, vessel availability, and cargo movements to support commercial decisions
• Coordinate closely with trading, operations, and post-fixture teams to ensure smooth voyage execution
• Handle voyage calculations, freight evaluations, and market comparisons
• Monitor vessel performance, schedules, and operational requirements throughout the voyage
• Maintain strong relationships with shipowners, brokers, and industry stakeholders
• Support contract management and ensure compliance with charter party terms and company policies
• Assist in resolving operational or commercial issues related to chartered vessels

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Business, or related discipline
• Prior experience in chartering, shipping operations, commercial shipping, or dry bulk preferred
• Good understanding of charter parties, freight markets, and vessel operations
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and commercially driven environment
• Analytical mindset with good numerical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
