Responsibilities

  • Provide community-based support and education to parents/caregivers of children with special needs and/or behavioral health needs.
  • Work with the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation(ECMHC) staff, EEC program leadership and educators and families in developing measurable Family Partner goals in the Individualized Service Delivery Plan.
  • Assist parents/caregivers in meeting the needs of the child through educating, supporting, coaching, modeling and guiding.
  • Teach parents/caregivers how to connect to community resources and communicate with providers advocating for services and resources to meet a child's needs.
  • Assisting the team with developing measurable Family Partner goals in IEPs, and engaging parents/caregivers in activities to address those goals

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED with two (2) years of experience working with children and youth or Associates/Bachelor's degree in a human services field with one (1) or more years of experience working with children and youth
  • Must be a parent, guardian or caregiver of a youth with special needs, and/or behavioral health needs.
  • Experience in navigating children and families within the education system.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with other parents in a supportive and non-judgmental manner regarding their needs.
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work and for providing services in the community
  • Bilingual and bicultural skills are a plus. Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish may be eligible for a 6% salary increase
  • Schedule: Part-time, Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 8am and 5pm.

  • $21.63 - $21.63 USD
