About the role

The Trades Generalist is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of Maricopa County facilities, including keeping spaces, structures, and infrastructure in proper operating condition through a routine, scheduled, or anticipated fashion to prevent failure or degradation. As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ We Require Two years of experience involving a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including semi-skilled trades tasks High school diploma or GED Other Requirements Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire and have an acceptable driving record Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) background investigation to access County detention facilities We Also Value Three years of experience within a large commercial, industrial, or institutional environment Proficient in Microsoft Office products and selected software programs, including Maximo Job Contributions Facilitate and correct all repairs associated with a specific work order, including routine and/or emergency repairs Respond to assigned service calls in person in all Maricopa County buildings, working within the system to finalize work orders Replace air filters, drive belts, ballasts, light bulbs, light switches, wall outlets, and low-voltage motors, managing work priorities on site Operate hand tools and power equipment necessary to perform various building maintenance and repair tasks Perform other trades activities, such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, and mechanical maintenance Operate computers and mobile devices for time management, inventory, work assignments, and other related functions Other job duties as assigned Working Conditions Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations.
