Responsibilities

  • -Support development and optimization of cathode slurry formulations through iterative experimental studies

  • Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • -Studying towards a BS, MS, or PhD degree in chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or related fields.
  • -Prior experience working in laboratory or research environments (academic or industry).
  • -Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • -Exceptional analytical and documentation skills.
  • -Ability to learn new skills and ask for help when needed.
  • -Capable of working independently with direction.
  • -Experience with slurry processing, rheology, coatings, or material characterization is a plus.
  • Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • -Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • -Precise and repetitive handling of a range of material quantities.
  • -Use a fume hood to prepare samples.
  • -Operate analytical equipment at a bench.
  • -Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time.
  • -Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, printer, etc. in a fixed location.
  • Compensations Range:
  • The expected base salary range for this position is between
  • $25.00 - $32.00 The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

The Cathode R&D Intern will support lithium-sulfur cathode formulation development and coating activities within the R&D cathode team. This role will focus on binder formulation screening, electrode processing, and characterization to help understand relationships between binder systems, electrode properties, and cell performance. This intern will support both early-stage formulation studies and larger-scale coating activities.
