About the role

The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) aims to pioneer our understanding of emerging infections through world-class research that integrates immunology, infection biology, pathogen genomics, and computational approaches. This integration drives comprehensive studies of host-pathogen interactions across molecular, individual, and population scales to address emerging health challenges. The position is for a full-time Research Fellow who will be involved in a study investigating structural changes of dengue virus inside the cell. The successful candidate will conduct experiments to characterize determine the structures of dengue viruses using structural techniques in particular cryoEM, and perform a variety of functions related to research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) or her designate: Work with the PI to design, develop, and execute research projects. Independently conduct research projects, including data collection, analysis, and preparation of results for publications and grant reports/applications. Maintain accurate records of methodologies, materials, raw data, and observations for experiments. Perform oral presentations and participate in discussions during meetings and interact with all members of the research team. Provide guidance and mentorship to undergraduate / students and research assistants. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Job Requirements PhD degree with prior experience in x-ray crystallography and cryoelectron microscopy. Prior experience in cryo-FIB milling and subtomogram averaging is preferred. Possess knowledge of the scientific background relevant to the research area and laboratory experimental skills, where applicable. Proven track record in the form of high impact publications. Demonstrated capability of research independence progressively. Have strong writing and critical thinking skills, as well as good communication and presentation skills. A team player who is able to prioritise, multi-task and work collaboratively in a diverse workforce. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
