Job Title Bilingual Benefits & Leave Specialist About This Role: Workplace Arrangements: This is a fully remote role! The incumbent may be asked to come onsite to our Ottawa, Ontario Home Office quarterly for team gatherings.

Responsibilities

  • Tier 2 Benefits Inquiries Management: Resolve complex tier two inquiries in a timely manner, ensuring a positive employee experience and holding third-party vendors accountable to SLAs.
  • Tier 2 Life & Disability Management: Administer life and disability programs by monitoring claim trends and vendor performance, managing complex and escalated cases, and identifying and resolving systemic issues to improve outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Pay Equity: Develop accurate pay equity plans, conduct data analysis, complete required filings, and manage correspondence with government bodies during audits or complaint reviews.
  • Policy Governance: Establish, maintain, and evolve total rewards policies in support of the EVP that are compliant, accessible, and aligned with Giant Tiger's values; monitor legislative changes, assess impact, and recommend updates.
  • Annual Benefits Enrolment: Coordinate and execute the annual enrolment process with vendors, leading testing, enabling HRBP readiness through training and communication, and monitoring participation trends.
  • Retirement Plan Governance: Provide oversight to safeguard participants' assets and support long-term financial security, ensuring CAP compliance.
  • Employee Perks: Establish new perk opportunities with third-party providers and administer existing programs.
  • Training Development: Create comprehensive benefit and HR policy training resources to enhance business understanding and capability in total rewards programs.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary education in HR.
  • 3-5 years' experience working with a variety of group benefits programs.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is a requirement as the role involves interacting with stores and employees across Canada, including in Quebec, along with CNESST.
  • Must have proven strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with an empathetic approach and the ability to communicate with members/dependents during sensitive situations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of provincial legislation Canada-wide, including pay equity
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to distill large quantities of data into a meaningful format.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, with a high level of attention to detail and maintain confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and independently manage multiple competing priorities.

  • $58,400.00 - $87,600.00
