Job Summary: The Estimator II - Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) is responsible for performing detailed material quantity takeoffs and supporting bid efforts for a variety of infrastructure projects with moderate complexity. This role works more independently than Estimator I, applying developing technical knowledge of materials, construction methods, and project specifications. Estimator II collaborates with sales, Pre‑Bid, and engineering teams to help ensure accurate scope development and competitive bid proposals. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities Project Evaluation & Takeoff Development Independently performs material quantity takeoffs for standard and moderately complex projects. Interprets construction drawings, specifications, and notes to determine accurate material requirements. Identifies specialty materials with some guidance. Bid Strategy & Sales Support Prepares scopes and provides material lists for sales and customers with increasing independence. Participates in pre‑takeoff and post‑takeoff discussions to support knowledge transfer. Works with contractors and sales teams to clarify scope, project needs, and standard value‑engineering opportunities. Vendor & Internal Collaboration Communicates with vendors to obtain basic product information, lead times, or material guidance. Coordinates with the Pre‑Bid team to maintain accurate scope definitions. Technical Development Continues to improve plan-reading, takeoff accuracy, and product knowledge. Begins mentoring Estimator I personnel by answering questions and reviewing simple takeoffs.
