The Sr Continuous Improvement Technician plays a critical role in ensuring workplace safety and compliance with health regulations, identify and eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce cost via the use of Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies. This position will focus on the value stream's performance improvements with the goal to yield zero unsafe conditions and behaviors, defect free products, on time delivery and an exceptional customer experience. Their work significantly contributes to the overall continuous improvement of the organization. Commitment to and be a leader of the CBB behavioral based safety program Together with the facility operations leadership and corporate safety teams, formulates general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company and plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations Communicate regularly with facility leadership team and operations teams to ensure plant project clarity and focus for all safety and continuous improvement initiatives and standards for the facility. Facilitates Kaizen events for assigned locations Leads continuous improvement efforts that will drive efficiency, reduce waste, and supports strategic objectives Creates, supports, and implements strategies to establish and improve overall compliance Inspects designated manufacturing operations to identify existing unsafe conditions and initiates corrective or preventative measures where needed. Actively participate in and/or lead local plant process improvements to promote cross-functional ideas and solutions. Actively leads and participates in the investigation of safety incidents and quality and service issues. Completes onboarding safety orientation for all new hires. Provide training and coaching to all operations team members on the practice of the Lean principles of waste identification and reduction and safe work behaviors. Evaluates and recommends process and equipment changes to enhance safety and minimize environmental impact. Investigates safety-related accidents, illnesses, and injuries, while providing recommendations based on findings. Administers, monitors and audits safety and health programs for OSHA compliance, conducting annual reviews on each program. Leads proactive air monitoring efforts to ensure adherence to standard practices. Conducts root cause analyses and follow-up on preventative/corrective actions. Performs job hazard analysis for ergonomic improvements and soft tissue injury prevention. Reviews accident investigation reports and ensures appropriate follow up; participates in claim reviews, mediations, and hearings; reviews workers compensation costs and monitors claims. Provides quality health care to employees to reduce workers compensation costs, absenteeism, and turnover. Team player and keeping safety first May be assigned other projects and duties as designated Willing/able to work overtime REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES OSHA Compliance - Ensures workplace practices, policies, and environments meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Risk Assessment -Identifies potential hazards, assesses risks, and implements preventive measures. Incident Investigation - Conducts thorough investigations identifies root causes, documents incidents, and implements corrective actions. Emergency Response - Handles emergencies effectively, including evacuation procedures, first aid, and crisis management. Safety Training - Trains employees on safety procedures using effective communication and teaching skills. Industrial Hygiene - Understands industrial hygiene principles, including exposure limits, ventilation, and chemical safety. Ergonomics - Applies ergonomic principles to prevent workplace injuries related to posture, repetitive motions, and workstation design. Safety Audits - Conducts regular safety audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety standards.
