Senior Engineering Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Lead to build, lead, and establish our new engineering hub in London . You will be the founding Engineering Lead, where you will be responsible for building a high-performing engineering team from the ground up. You will report directly to our Director of Engineering in Copenhagen. You will recruit and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, and in close collaboration with the business owners in our Operations department, you will define the technical roadmap and deliver the solutions that power our workflows. This role is a blend of people leadership, technical architecture, and product ownership. As the Senior Engineering Lead, you will ensure your team delivers high-quality, maintainable integrations and systems. You will manage the team, facilitate their productivity, and support their professional growth. The Tech Stack You will be leading a multi-team organization working across our company's Tech Stacks: Our marketplace backend is a Spring Boot Application on Java 25 running on a Kubernetes cluster deployed in AWS. We have two frontend React.js projects written in TypeScript, as well as an Android App written primarily in Kotlin, and an iOS App written in Swift.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Own and maintain the team's technical roadmap, ensuring it is aligned with business priorities defined by the Operations team.
• Work directly with business stakeholders to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, and translate requirements into actionable work.
• Manage relationships and technical work with third-party service providers and consultants.
• Guide the team in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust integrations between our various systems.
• Support the personal and professional growth of your team members.
• Take responsibility for the team's delivery, technical quality, and schedule.
• The Ideal Candidate
• You have proven experience as a solution architect or senior engineer, designing and building integrations between complex systems
• You have previously managed an engineering team and know how to support and grow your reports.
• You can work independently and are able to create a feeling of belonging in a team that works remotely from most of the rest of the Tech team.
• You are comfortable working very closely with non-technical business stakeholders to define roadmaps and priorities.
• You have hands-on experience with integration technologies and patterns. Experience with Java/Spring Boot or similar is a significant advantage for integrating with our existing services.
