Job Description: The Quality Technician provides hands-on quality support to manufacturing operations by ensuring products and processes meet design, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role performs inspections, audits, testing, and measurement activities to verify compliance, identify nonconforming material, and support corrective action and continuous improvement efforts. Working closely with production and engineering, the technician helps improve process capability, reduce risk, and maintain consistent manufacturing quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform process audits, product inspections, testing, and dimensional measurements. Identify, document, contain, and process nonconforming material per procedure. Support production floor troubleshooting and help resolve quality-related issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, or productivity. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone). Collect, analyze, and report quality data to support decision-making and continuous improvement. Perform inspections using gauges, measuring tools, prints, CAD models, and test methods. Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation, and traceability requirements. Support process control and risk reduction activities (e.g., SPC, audits). Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and cross-functional teams to support operational excellence. Required Qualifications: Measurement & Inspection: Proficient with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measurement tools; able to select appropriate methods and perform basic conversions and calculations. Blueprint Reading : Ability to interpret technical drawings and understand GD&T basics, including critical, major, and minor characteristics and Cpk. Quality Tools: Experience with root cause and corrective action tools (5-Why, Fishbone, CAPA/8D). Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel preferred) and QMS systems. Attention to Detail: Ability to detect defects and ensure compliance to specifications. Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support root cause analysis; understanding of traceability and calibration requirements. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and cross-functional collaboration.
