Rothschild & Co is seeking a highly experienced investment professional to join its Wealth Management division in Zurich or Geneva. In this senior role, you will advise institutional clients, family offices, and Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals (UHNWIs) on the construction of bespoke total wealth portfolio solutions. You will combine deep technical expertise across public and private markets with strong client-facing and pitching capabilities. The role focuses on total wealth diagnostics, strategic asset allocation, and the design and presentation of holistic bespoke mandates that bridge public and private markets.
Responsibilities
- Client Profiling & Total Wealth Diagnostics
- Conduct institutional-grade asset-liability and total wealth analysis
- Analyse complex portfolios across liquid (equities, fixed income, hedge funds) and illiquid assets (private equity, venture capital, real estate, direct investments)
- Identify client-specific constraints including investment horizons, tax considerations, governance, liquidity needs, and succession or structuring aspects
- Mandate Design & Strategic Asset Allocation
- Develop comprehensive current state analyses identifying concentrations, mismatches, and inefficiencies
- Design tailored strategic asset allocation frameworks and future state mandates across liquid and illiquid investments
- Apply advanced portfolio construction concepts, including: Illiquid dynamics (J-curve modelling, capital calls, distributions, vintage diversification)
- Risk and performance metrics (IRR, volatility, maximum drawdown, VaR, correlation profiles)
- Coordinate with internal investment specialists to ensure effective implementation and phased deployment strategies
- Client Engagement & Business Development
- Lead high-value investment pitches and translate complex asset allocation frameworks into clear, compelling narratives
- Defend investment strategies, allocation decisions, and risk-modelling assumptions with sophisticated family office investment committees
- Partner closely with Senior Relationship Managers on client acquisition, onboarding, and development of existing client relationships
- Your profile
- 10-15 years of experience within a private bank, family office, or institutional asset manager
- Strong track record in UHNW or institutional portfolio construction and asset allocation
- Deep understanding of public markets and private assets (private equity, private debt, infrastructure, real estate)
- Strong quantitative skills (e.g. Sharpe ratio, illiquidity premiums, correlation analysis, cash-flow modelling)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
- Strong analytical capabilities and experience with portfolio optimisation tools
- Solid understanding of the Swiss regulatory framework (FinSA / FinIA) and cross-border investment complexities
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative discipline
- CFA, CAIA, or CFP qualification preferred
- English (native or full professional fluency) required
- German and/or French strongly preferred
