Family Driver / Household Assistant

Responsibilities

• Family Driving & Children's Transportation
• Safely drive children to and from school, sports, activities, appointments, and family-related commitments.
• Support morning, afternoon, and evening transportation needs.
• Be available for occasional weekend driving.
• Be open to occasional travel for children's sports tournaments or activities in other cities, including multi-day trips when needed.
• Maintain a calm, safe, and responsible driving style at all times.
• Follow family instructions, schedules, and safety expectations carefully.
• Working Around Children
• Build a friendly, respectful, and appropriate relationship with the children.
• Be able to connect with children who have different interests, such as hockey, media / creative activities, martial arts, gymnastics, and other hobbies.
• Maintain proper boundaries and use good judgment when interacting with children.
• Understand that parenting, discipline, and behavioral correction are the parents' responsibility.
• Avoid criticizing, lecturing, correcting, or disciplining children unless it directly relates to safety, respectful communication, or personal boundaries.
• Communicate with the parents if any issue requires their attention.
• Vehicle Care & Maintenance
• Keep family vehicles clean, fueled, organized, and ready to use.
• Take vehicles for car washes, gas, routine service, inspections, repairs, and dealership appointments.
• Track and help manage vehicle documentation, service records, registration, insurance, and related paperwork.
• Coordinate with mechanics, dealerships, car wash providers, and other service vendors.
• Report vehicle issues promptly and help arrange solutions.
• Errands & Daily Support
• Run household and family errands as needed.
• Handle returns of online purchases.
• Go to the post office, bank, grocery store, pharmacy, or other locations as requested.
• Pick up and drop off items.
• Assist with time-sensitive tasks and quick errands.
• Support the family's daily logistics in a flexible and reliable way.
• Home Maintenance & Vendor Coordination
• Help coordinate regular household maintenance and service providers, including:
• AC / HVAC maintenance;
• pool service;
• security systems;
• cameras and surveillance systems;
• appliance service;
• landscaping or exterior maintenance;
• other household systems and vendors.
• Communicate with vendors in English.
• Schedule appointments and follow up on service visits.
• Monitor vendor work and make sure tasks are completed properly.
• Troubleshoot basic household issues when possible.
• Identify when a specialist is needed and help arrange service.
• Help obtain quotes, compare vendors, coordinate schedules, and track completion of work.
• Handyman Tasks & Household Projects
• Handle small repairs and basic handyman tasks around the home.
• Assist with small household projects, such as furniture assembly, minor fixes, hanging items, organizing spaces, replacing simple parts, or basic home improvements.
• Help with larger household projects when needed by coordinating vendors, preparing the space, monitoring progress, handling logistics, and following up until completion.

A private family in Parkland, Florida is looking for a reliable, flexible, and hands-on Family Driver / Household Assistant to support daily family logistics, children's transportation, vehicle care, home maintenance coordination, errands, and small household projects. This role is best suited for someone practical, calm, service-oriented, and comfortable helping with a wide range of tasks. The right candidate should be equally comfortable driving children, coordinating with vendors, running errands, handling car maintenance, and helping with basic household needs.
