Responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate, test, document, and improve products and components.

  • In-depth knowledge of Creo/PTC software, including demonstrable skills in creating complex surfaces, parts, assemblies, and drawings.
  • Understanding of die casting, plastics, adhesives, stamping, machining, and rapid prototyping.
  • Understanding of tolerance analysis.
  • Expertise in plastic injection molding design.
  • Extensive design experience with high-volume, low-cost products.
  • Experience with Agile database systems is a plus.
  • Effective leadership, organization, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability and willingness to take ownership of projects and get the job done with minimal supervision.
  • Experience successfully leading projects through pilot, mass production, and beyond.
  • Self-starter who works well on a team.

The NETGEAR Product Design team is a group of highly skilled cross-disciplinary designers working together across continents and cultures in a friendly, fast-paced, and inspiring environment. We design and deliver technology products to a wide range of customers under our brands: Orbi, Nighthawk, and NETGEAR. As a member of the Product Design team, you will lead the design, testing, performance, documentation, and production of networking hardware for retail and small business markets. These are high-volume products manufactured in Asia, and the successful candidate will manage the design and tooling of plastic and metal enclosures from concept through production for home and small-to-medium office use. This is a hybrid role, expected to be onsite 3 days a week in our Richmond, BC office.
