Fort Washington Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Patient Access Registrar I for our Patient Access Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Patient Access Registrar I you will: - Supports hospital registration of all outpatient and inpatient services by obtaining the financial information pertinent to reimbursement and statistical data. - Promote teamwork and a positive work environment. - Communicates to management when issues arise. - Demonstrates an ability to differentiate between self- empowered trouble shooting issues or escalating issues to management. - Assist with training of new team members. - Attempt to ensure patient liabilities are paid in full at time of service. - Communication clearly to patient or patient designee, insurance coverages/benefits, patient financial obligations, and impact of unpaid services - Coordinates bed placement according to hospital guidelines and/or given staffing guidelines. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications include: - Minimum of 1 year experience within a healthcare environment. Can include insurers or public health settings as well. - At least 1 year experience in patient registration and/or eligibility and benefits. - Requires some knowledge/training in government payer rules and regulations. - Requires some knowledge/training regarding TPLs, WC, and other payment sources and liabilities. - High School Graduate or equivalent. Some college preferred. - Must demonstrate ability to multitask and work under pressure with minimal supervision. - Basic knowledge of office equipment and PC skills. Work Schedule: Employment Type: Full-time Hours per Week: 40Hrs per week Typical Daily Schedule: Rotating shifts from 6:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:30pm Shift Type : Rotating Holiday Requirements: Follow company holiday calendar On-Call: No Pay Range: $19.21 - $24.90 If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
