About the Position: This position is located in the Dept. of Radiology within Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, MD. Shift is Monday-Friday from 0730 to 1600. Weekly on-call/rotation (1600-0700 hrs weekdays; 0000-2400 hrs weekends/holidays) after 6 months or when candidate is comfortable with troubleshooting. COMPTIA Security + will be required within 6 months of hiring per DoD directive. The selecting official has requested a competitive and noncompetitive candidate list for this vacancy. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing support in a clinical environment for radiologic systems, to include troubleshooting problems; remediating security vulnerabilities; applying patches and hotfixes to servers and workstations; data base management; and diagnosing and recovering failed systems or hardware related to radiologic specific systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
