We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Commis I - Asian Cuisine to join our culinary team in Novotel Dubai Al Barsha. You will work alongside experienced chefs to prepare and present authentic Asian dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment while contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Prepare and portion ingredients for Asian cuisine dishes according to standardized recipes and chef specifications Assist senior chefs in the preparation, cooking, and plating of Asian dishes with precision and attention to detail Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene protocols Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including woks, steamers, fryers, and other specialized Asian cooking tools Support the kitchen team in executing daily meal services while managing time effectively during peak hours Follow all food handling procedures and comply with UAE food safety regulations and organizational standards Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and proper storage of ingredients Continuously learn and develop Asian culinary techniques under the guidance of senior kitchen staff Perform additional kitchen duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen management Proven experience working in a professional kitchen environment (preferred) Familiarity with Asian cuisine preparation techniques and cooking methods (preferred) Strong knife skills and proficiency with basic food preparation techniques Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, with current food safety certification (preferred) Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen setting Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong teamwork and communication abilities with a collaborative mindset Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent food quality standards Willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking techniques and kitchen procedures Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
