Accountant - Operational Finance

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger to ensure accurate financial records
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support business decision-making
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain data accuracy
• Ensure timely and accurate closing of financial periods to meet reporting deadlines
• Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts to guide financial planning
• Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and analyse variances to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Support cost control initiatives across departments to optimize expenditure
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards such as IFRS and GAAP, and adhere to company policies
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard assets and improve processes
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports
• Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and recommend improvements to increase operational effectiveness
• Support automation initiatives and ERP system enhancements to streamline financial workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial and operational processes
• Partner with operations teams to provide financial insights that inform strategic decision-making
• Analyse cost drivers and operational performance metrics to support business objectives
• Support inventory accounting, procurement, and expense management activities as needed
• Preferred competencies and qualifications
• Experience in managing full set of accounts
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
• Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certification
