Responsibilities

  • Synthesize business goals, internal initiatives, and cohesive vision into a comprehensive strategy for the partnerships ecosystem that supports Connected Services offerings at Scout and enhances the vehicle ownership experience.
  • Continuously seek out and evaluate potential partners across software, entertainment (audio, video, gaming), IoT, commerce, and mobility services that align with our connected vehicle roadmap.
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact for key strategic partners, fostering deep, trust-based relationships that encourage long-term collaboration, innovation, and mutually beneficial goals.
  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements, licenses, and strategic arrangements that maximize both immediate and long-term value.
  • Lead contracting & terms with primary telecommunications and network infrastructure providers (MNOs, MVNOs, Satellite) to ensure robust vehicle connectivity.
  • Develop close relationships with Scout's business leaders, product management, corporate strategy, legal, and engineering teams to align partnership goals and specific partner projects with corporate needs as well as identify new opportunities for outside partnerships.
  • Coordinate partnership activities with internal stakeholders such as Procurement, Legal, Sales & Marketing, Accessories, and Digital Products to ensure successful agreement execution and develop go to market strategy.
  • Define & structure the financial architecture of partnerships, including revenue-sharing models, licensing fees, and co-marketing budgets, ensuring alignment with overall business profitability goals.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends and competitor movements to drive a partnerships approach that helps ensure Scout's Connected Services are always at the forefront of the industry.
  • Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for each partnership, holding both internal teams and external partners accountable for shared success metrics.
  • Oversee the end-to-end partner lifecycle, from technical onboarding to conducting regular business reviews, acting as the primary escalation point for operational or integration roadblocks.
  • Location & Travel Expectations :
  • This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC .
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in business development, technical partnership management, or corporate strategy, ideally within the automotive, consumer technology, telecommunications, e-commerce/retail, apps, or IoT sectors.
  • Proven track record of independently sourcing, negotiating, and closing complex commercial agreements with tech and lifestyle brands.
