About the role
Full-time, Fixed Term Position Until 31/12/2027 Salary Academic Level B ($119,915 - $142,402) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University The Research Fellow will be a part of the RMIT node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Transformative Meta-Optical Systems (TMOS). The Research Fellow's role is primarily to plan, develop and engage in high quality research projects that are aligned with the objectives of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Transformative Meta-Optical Systems (TMOS). They will also contribute to ongoing related research projects and in postgraduate research training. The Research Fellow will embed their research expertise into the life of the School through the development of high-quality, productivity-driven research networks across RMIT and with local and national, internal and external partners. Please note: We welcome applications from all suitable candidates; however, priority will be given to those with valid working rights in Australia, as visa sponsorship is not available for this position To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum: Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and/or industry links. Demonstrated experience in LED and photodetector based optical sensor technologies Demonstrated experience in surface mount device components will be beneficial. Demonstrated experience in microfabrication/nanofabrication, and materials characterisation. Please view position description for further selection criteria

- TMOS will develop the next-generation of miniaturised optical systems with functionalities beyond what is conceivable today. By harnessing the disruptive concept of meta-optics, the Centre will overcome complex challenges in light generation, manipulation and detection at the nanoscale.
